Pizza while breastfeeding

Can breastfeeding mom eat pizza?
There is no major counter indication to eat pizza once in a while during breastfeeding. However, for safety, especially at the beginning of breastfeeding (1-8 weeks) I would recommend eating pizza only in small amounts.

Child's reaction to the pizza depends mostly on what the ingredients of the pizza are. Therefore, if you are trying to eat pizza for the first time during feeding , it is better to choose a pizza that contains safe and mild ingredients , such as: pizza with ham, chicken , tomato sauce or fruit (such as bananas) .

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

The ingredients that are not advisable for pizza for nursing mothers are : peppers ( especially hot chili pepper ), onion , garlic , spicy and fatty meats (such as salami, bacon ), mushrooms , beans , green peas.

If your baby is allergic to dairy products, it is definitely not advisable to eat pizza with any kind of cheese.

Breastfeeding mother should not eat pizza which contains a lot of oriental or hot spices.

If you have the opportunity, skills and time, try to make yourself a safe "breastfeeding pizza" with less spices and ingredients that are safe for your baby. Keep in mind that the dough of a pizza served in restaurants often contains beer, which obviously should be avoided during lactation.
